Caterpillar - Hero Shots

These hero shots were created to showcase various machines for the Underground Mining Division for use at MinEXPO 2016. The machines themselves were initially put together by another team using CAD geometry and then passed over to our production art team for the final pass. I began the project with the base machines already completed and built the environments around them.

The environments themselves were created based on modern underground coal mines, and were constructed modularly as to be able to easily build different layouts to showcase each machine in a separate location. Procedural dirt and wear materials were also developed between me and another artist to be able to realistically depict each machine in a working environment. The final scenes were lit and rendered in 3DS Max using V-Ray.
